Hey Panda Family,
I am so excited for Monday! I am proud of the hard work each of you have put in to prepare for the return of our Pandas 🐼 Bring your smile, positive energy, and comfy shoes :) Let's live above the line and make the most meaningful IMPACT on our students!
Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:
New Updates
First Day of School: On the first day of school we plan to let students come to the room beginning at 7:50. This will allow us to get as many parents in and out as we can that want to walk their child in on the first day. We will move to our normal procedures on Tuesday where students will wait in the gym or cafeteria until the 8:05 bell.
First Week of School: The first week of school is your opportunity to establish the most wonderful classroom culture and environment to set you up for success for the whole year! Please make sure to prioritize these things the first week of school:
- Building classroom community
- Establishing Morning Meeting routines
- Review and practice PAWS Laws expectations (practice, practice, practice)
- Review and practice your classroom expectations
- Show your students you love them & tell them you love them
- Slowly introduce academics
Specials: Specials classes will start on the very first day of school at 8:30 with 4th grade. The first day will be backed up getting parents in, but we will work as quickly as possible. I want us to get in routine starting day one.
Help from Support Teachers: If you are a support teacher (no assigned homeroom), I ask that you please help at morning duty, lunch, and afternoon duty the first week of school. I know you will be busy planning for your upcoming groups during the school day, but your assistance during morning/afternoon duty and lunch will be much appreciated. I am not assigning spots, I just ask that you find a place to jump in and help. Thanks!
Recess Equipment: If you have any recess balls from previous years that you do not want anymore, you can place them in the shed outside at the playground (we are keeping the shed for now). Please do not put them in the gym. If you have any recess balls that need to be pumped up, please bring them to Ms. Fox to be pumped up. You can leave them outside her office door but make sure your name is on your recess equipment. Ms. Fox will return your equipment once she pumps them up.
Building Open Tomorrow: The building will be open tomorrow (Saturday) from 8:00-12:00 with air conditioning if you would like to come work in your room.
Fantasy Football (from SCC): If you are interested in playing Fantasy Football please make sure you complete the interest form in Ms. Mathis' email by Monday. If you have no clue what Fantasy Football is, but want to play, come see Elkins or Gardner and we will explain how fun and easy it is! There will be prizes!
Google MFA: Google multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be required for all staff this year. Employees with Google accounts will have until September 28th to self-enroll with Google MFA. You will be reminded to enroll each time you log in to your Google account.
- Your Google account will be locked on September 29th if you do not meet this self-enrollment requirement.
- To unlock your account, call the Technology Service desk. Please be aware that you may experience long wait times so make every effort to enroll by September 28th.

STC Kits: All STC kits are updated and ready for use. We did have to relocate them due to space. They are currently located in these rooms:
Updates from Previous Week
Staff Meeting Presentation: Here is the link to the Opening Staff Meeting - Opening Staff Meeting 23-24. Please make sure review all dates and things-to-do before the start of the school year.
Class Dojo: Please make sure to archive your Class Dojo class from last school year. Also, please make sure to share your Class Dojo class for this year with Elkins, Gardner, Ceglowski, Specialists, and any other teachers that serve your class.
Lesson Plans: I completely understand that the first week lesson plans will be mainly establishing routines, practicing routines, and building classroom community. I would still like everyone to submit plans for the first week to get in the routine. You will submit plans through Canvas. I am not expecting anything elaborate the first week, so don't stress.
