Hey Panda Family,
EVAAS (K-5 Teachers): Please make sure to check your email to see when you will meet this upcoming week to work on your EVAAS roster verification.
April Staff Meeting: Here is the recording of the April staff meeting from this past week. Please watch if you were not able to attend. April Staff Meeting
RISE Summer Camp: Ms. Ceglowski and I are handling all the communication to parents for registering for the RISE Summer Camp and Pathway to One. There are many programs being offered by the district this summer - 2021 WS/FCS Summer Camp Options. If you think one of the other programs would be beneficial to your students, please communicate this to your parents. Here is a cheat sheet for the summer programs: WS/FCS Summer School Programs
Clean and Green: Ms. Adams is preparing the paperwork for Clean and Green, and she did not want to leave anything out that you have done this school year to beautify the campus and/or promote environmental issues in the classroom. Please let her know.
No Talent Show: We have decided to forego a Talent Show this school year. If you have any students that ask, please let them know that we will resume having a Talent Show next school year.
- We will meet again this coming Wednesday. Please email Ceglowski with any concerns for us to discuss before the meeting. Thanks!
- Attached is a much cleaner and more concise list of the summer programs: WS/FCS Summer School Programs
- DLC Credits: If you need DLC (Technology Credits) or just want to add them to your CEUs to have them on record, you can register for the workshop in the PD system: Location: Piney Grove Elementary Title: DLC Integration 2020-21 (Piney Grove Elementary), Date: 02/24/2021. Remember, you must be on the school network to register for workshops in the PD system. Should you have any questions, please let me know. Just in case you need the document again, here is a link to the form you need to submit to me so that I can enter your credits into the PD system for you: DLC Credit Record Sheet. Please submit your DLC Credit Record Sheet to me via the following Google Form by May 14th, 2021, so that I have ample time to enter them in the PD system. Submit Your DLC Credit Record Sheet Here.
- Newsela Training: Just so I can get a feel for how to deliver training on Newsela, please respond to the following form: Preference for Newsela Training.
Remote Students Returning to In-Person: We have decided not to wait until 4th quarter to communicate to all remote parents that their child can return to in-person learning. Please send the following message to your fully-remote students via Dojo (you can let them know it is from Mr. Elkins):
Hey Pandas! Effective immediately, your child may return to full in-person learning if you so choose. Any remote students that want to immediately return to in-person learning will need to be a car rider, use a morning/afternoon daycare van, or go to Imprints. If your child needs bus transportation, please contact the front office to get it arranged before your child plans to return to in-person learning (bus transportation is only available for residential students). If your child will be a car rider, please ask your teacher for a pink car rider sign. Students returning to in-person learning are committing to all 4 days of in-person learning each week. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact the front office at 336-703-4122.
- Mr. Elkins
If parents decide to send their child back for in-person learning please let Ms. True know who the student is and when they will begin in-person learning.
Student Attendance: For students to be counted present on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays they must attend in-person if they are an in-person student or they must attend remotely if they are a remote student. Students should not be counted present for work completion only on M/T/Th/F if they did not attend class. They may be counted present for work completion on Flex Wednesdays.
Morning Arrival: This is just a friendly reminder that all staff need to enter through the front entrance of the building first & complete the temperature check and screening before reporting to your room. Thank you for your help with this.
NEW addition to Canvas Page: I have created a button on the Canvas page that is called “Interventions”. I have put all the resources that the district has given us here, including the Standard Treatment Protocol as well as tools that will be helpful as you write MTSS letters. I hope putting things all in one place will be helpful to you.
iReady and Pop to the Top info: Here is the iReady schedule for testing (which starts this week!). PLEASE make sure you note when you will be loaning computers out. I will not be able to help with transporting these, etc, and I do not have any "extra" available. Information for Pop to the Top (both student and parent facing) is linked at the top of the schedule.
EOG Test Administrator training: Don’t forget there will be EOG trainings on May 12. Please plan to attend one of the sessions. (K-1 is 8:30, 2, Specialist, other certified staff is 12, 3-5, EC is 2:00)
