Week of 5/23 - 5/29

Hey Panda Family,

We made it into the single digits - 8 days left in this school year! In many ways this year has been more challenging than the virtual year, but yet again each of you amaze me and find a way to make learning happen through all the obstacles. Thank you for the love, dedication, and commitment over the last few years! Enjoy these last 8 days with your students and continue to make memories 🐼

"Every task, goal, race, and year comes to an end...therefore, make it a habit to always finish strong" - Gary Ryan Blair

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

Mental Health Trainings: Friendly reminder that all your state required Mental Health Training videos must be complete by Tuesday, May 31.

PGE Science Position Vacancy: Congratulations again to Ms. Adams on her upcoming retirement! We wish you nothing but the best! If any certified staff member is interested in the Science Specialist position, we would like to open it up internally first. The only requirement is an active K-5 or K-6 license. If you are interested, please send Mr. Elkins an email by Friday, June 3 and he will share the full details of the job description.

Awards Day: Please make sure all students in your class receive an award or superlative on Awards Day. All students deserve to be celebrated. The only award I would like all grades to distribute is the "Math Fact Golden Paw" award - this award will go to those students who have earned their Golden Paw in our school-wide math fact fluency initiative.

EOG Updates: We worked well as a team to ensure the ELA EOG went smoothly for our students and each other.  Thank you.

Week of 5/9 - 5/13

Hey Panda Family,

As you gear up for this week, I want you to ask yourself a question: Are you having fun with your students? We only have four more weeks to make memories with this class! Take time this week to show them their iReady growth and scream/shout/high-five, find a fun way to make team apparel or team signs for field day, or see if parents will donate a fun snack just because! The end of the year is full of review and testing (which is very important), but don't forget to find time to have fun too! 😊

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

Staff Meeting (Tuesday, May 17 @ 3:30): Our staff meeting for this month will be this Tuesday, May 17 @ 3:30. We will have our meeting in the Cafeteria due to Election Day Voting that will be occurring in the Media Center. The meeting will be brief and then we will celebrate baby Keller! Here is the staff meeting agenda:
  • Good News
  • Staffing Updates
  • Weekly Events
    • Spring Concert - Ms. Staley
      • Dress Rehearsal - Thursday, May 19 @ 9:00am
    • Field Day Overview - Ms. Fox
  • Ms. Keller Baby Sprinkle - Ms. Keller Baby Sprinkle

iReady Math Growth: With only a handful of students left that need to finish the iReady Math diagnostic, we are so pumped to announce our growth - 115% Math growth as a school! You and your students are absolutely amazing! We are so proud and I am so happy for how prepared our students are to be more successful mathematicians!

iReady Class Prizes: I am so excited to announce that every class earned at least one of the iReady class prizes (ice cream truck or mystery water station)! And 25 classes earned both! Y'all are amazing!

PLTs: Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade will have PLTs this week. In these final weeks we are going to stagger when grade levels meet for PLTs as we work around events and schedules. Don't worry though - my goal is for all grade levels to have an equal amount of PLTs to end the year :)

Election Day (Tuesday, May 17): We will be a voting site for Election Day on Tuesday. Voting will take place in the Media Center. The Media Center will be closed on Tuesday.

Ms. Olive & Ms. Christopher's Groups: This week is the final week for Ms. Olive & Ms. Christopher's grades 3-5 pullout groups. They have done amazing work helping to coach and prepare our upper grades students for their End-of-Grade tests!

  • Remember, you cannot share any students' COVID status with parents.
