New Updates
Staff Winter Social (from SCC): Our Holiday Social will be held this year at Austin's on Friday, December 8th at 6:30. In order to save funds for the end of year celebration, SCC is not covering the cost of this meal, we are simply organizing. Everyone will order off the full menu and will be responsible for their own meal and drinks. Please fill out the google form if you are planning on attending by Friday, December 1st, as head count is due to restaurant that evening. Spouses/significant others are welcome.

PGE Winter Musical Dress Rehearsal: Next Thursday, December 7 is the dress rehearsal for the PGE Winter Musical. All grade levels will attend. We will begin calling classes to the gym at 8:30.
EFHS Winter Choir Tour: Next Friday, December 8 from 8:40 - 9:30 the EFHS Winter Choir Tour will visit Piney Grove. The performance will be in the gym. This program is optional. You can decide if you want your class to attend. We will begin calling classes at 8:30.
Classroom Holiday Parties: Please let Ms. Landreth know when you are having your classroom holiday party. This way the office can be prepared for the extra visitors. Thanks!

- Paw Store on December 11 and 12. See the schedule here.
- Help us celebrate the last day before winter break by wearing PJ's on 12/15/2023
- Plan to reteach all procedures when we return on 1/3/2024.
- Remember to teach Code lesson #7 when we return from winter break
MTSS Updates: Please see the MTSS updates below.
- Ceglowski and Gardner are in the middle of the meetings for Tier 3. Thank you for your patience as we work through everything.
- Current Tier 2 plans will be reviewed during PLT's the week of December 4th. Bring your data to the meeting.
- We will not start any NEW Tier 2 plans until after Winter Break.
- Mrs. Kaye Edwards will be off campus on December 11th, 13th and 14th.
December Workdays: December 18, 19, 20 are assigned as RT Workdays. We have nothing scheduled for these days. All certified staff may choose to work from home, school, or take Annual Leave on these workdays. If you choose to take Annual Leave please complete a white sheet leave form. Classified staff does not work on these workdays.
December Drills: We only have a fire drill this month. It will be unannounced.
Educator’s Role in the Protection and Well-being of Children: Here is a link to the presentation from our October staff meeting on the educator's role in the protection and well-being of your students - Protection & Well Being of Students. If you ever need assistance in this area please reach out to Ms. Ceglowski or Ms. Watkins as your first contacts.
Concussion Training (from district): An annual concussion training is required for all school staff per State and Local Board Policy. The Return to Learn after the concussion training will be assigned to all school staff on November 6, 2023, in the Vector Training System. Please remind your staff to
complete the training by December 4, 2023.
United Way: Thank you to everyone who donated to the district's United Way campaign. A big thank you to Ms. Ballou for heading up this fundraiser as our school liaison. Here are the final totals for our school!

Shout-outs: Thank you to the Summit Church for providing a delicious meal for our staff yesterday!

A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Pierce for everything she did for our MTSS students while Mrs. Balint was out with Liam. Her last day with us is Friday, December 8th. Mrs. Balint returns on Monday, December 11th.
From Ms. Gant - Thank you to everyone who has helped me this week or checked in. There are too many people to try to thank individually. I don't want to leave anyone out. Please know the support is very appreciated. Piney Grove is such a special place and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
Updates from Previous Week
Staff Absences: If you have a sudden absence (wake up sick, family emergency, etc.) that is not scheduled please make sure you text Mr. Elkins & Ms. Owens. We work together on all our absences so letting us both know at the same time will really help us be able to help you. Thank you!

IEP Minutes: Effective immediately, classroom teachers will begin taking minutes during IEP meetings. We will support you through this transition. Here is a link to the IEP Minutes template - IEP Minutes Template. You will make a copy of this document before each meeting. The template is a Google Doc, so Ms. Gardner and I will be in the document too during meetings so we can help support you with the minutes.
Pam Mason for 1/2 Day: Between now and the end of the year, all certified teachers can book Ms. Pam Mason for a free 1/2 day of planning. We hope this will help you get caught up on plans, grading, communication to parents, etc. You are still required to be in the building during your 1/2 day of planning. You can use the staff workroom or the room at the back of the library for a quiet space. Please review the open dates on Ms. Mason's schedule here - Pam Mason 2023-2024. Communicate the 1/2 day of your choice with Ms. Mason and she will fill it in on her schedule. We hope you find this time very helpful!
