Report Cards: Report Cards should be completed and turned in to the office by April 1 (before you leave for Spring Break). Report Cards will go home to parents the week of April 12.

FCAE Teacher Working Conditions Survey (from district): Please complete before you leave for Spring Break. The 2021 “Teacher Working Conditions” Survey is now open for all educators in the district. All employees, specifically those based at one of our schools, are encouraged to reply. Please use the link below to access the online survey. April 1 RC Day (from district): We are excited to offer a wide range of professional learning sessions for teachers and teacher assistants. Please use this link to view the sessions being offered. Sessions are based on teacher requests and aligned content standards and resources. Based on teacher interests, their individual PDP goal areas, and state licensure requirements, teachers will choose live sessions and/or asynchronous sessions equaling five hours of professional learning for the RC Day. All sessions are virtual and can be completed either at school or remotely from home. Attendance will be taken for each session and asynchronous assignments need to be submitted by April 16. The Instructional Services team has worked hard to provide choice sessions specifically designed to support teachers with new textbook adoption materials, help provide targeted fourth quarter instruction, and ensure there are options to help teachers meet licensure requirements. Please share this information with teachers and the expectation of completing five hours of live and/or asynchronous sessions between April 1- 16. One of the five hours can be used for PLT, collaboration, planning, and/or a school based Q3 close out activity. Teachers should register for each session through the Staff PD site. Teacher assistants must attend live sessions on April 1 to receive the $75 stipend.

**Side note: I understand that some of the live sessions overlap. Consider splitting these up among your grade level (one person goes to Math, one goes to ELA, etc.) and then fill in the rest of your time with the asynchronous sessions. We trust each of you to keep track of your own time.**
iReady: There are no iReady requirements for your students this week. You may have your students work in iReady if you choose to, but it is not required.

Extended Learning Transportation: At this time I have not received confirmation from transportation about our bus transportation for our Extended Learning students. It was supposed to be in place by March 29, but that is looking unlikely. If you have any students staying for tutoring that needed bus transportation, please let them know that I am still working on it and hopefully it will be in place by the time we return from Spring Break. Will keep you posted!
Large hallway garbage cans: Please only use these garbage cans for breakfast and lunch trash.
Teacher Intent: All certified teachers must complete their intent form for the 2021-2022 school year by March 31. The form must be completed from school while you are on the network server. The link to the form can be found here: WS/FCS Teacher Intent
Revisited Tech Trick: As we move closer to the end towards that fun event, the EOGs, you may want to start creating a few reading assessments in Canvas which students can see the passages and a series of questions related to that specific text to the side. This can be done using the Stimulus option in the New Quizzes option within Canvas. The only downside to this is that Canvas does not allow students to highlight or markup the passage using reading strategies like NCTest does. I am trying to find an extension or add-on that will allow for this, but to no avail, I have not been able to find one.

Instructional Planning Challenge: I would like for each grade level to come up with a unit or lesson that you are going to be implementing by the end of this year in which I can collaborate with your team on.
Reminder: I will be co-facilitating a session on Pear Deck which is an interactive presentation tool that is an add-on feature in both Google Slides and PowerPoint at 1:00 pm on the April 1st district PD. Also, Discovery Education will be facilitating sessions all morning for elementary teachers with a science focus, more specifically, the Science Tech Book.

Remote Students Returning to In-Person: We have decided not to wait until 4th quarter to communicate to all remote parents that their child can return to in-person learning. Please send the following message to your fully-remote students via Dojo (you can let them know it is from Mr. Elkins):
Hey Pandas! Effective immediately, your child may return to full in-person learning if you so choose. Any remote students that want to immediately return to in-person learning will need to be a car rider, use a morning/afternoon daycare van, or go to Imprints. If your child needs bus transportation, please contact the front office to get it arranged before your child plans to return to in-person learning (bus transportation is only available for residential students). If your child will be a car rider, please ask your teacher for a pink car rider sign. Students returning to in-person learning are committing to all 4 days of in-person learning each week. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact the front office at 336-703-4122.

If parents decide to send their child back for in-person learning please let Ms. True know who the student is and when they will begin in-person learning.
Student Attendance: For students to be counted present on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays they must attend in-person if they are an in-person student or they must attend remotely if they are a remote student. Students should not be counted present for work completion only on M/T/Th/F if they did not attend class. They may be counted present for work completion on Flex Wednesdays.
Morning Arrival: This is just a friendly reminder that all staff need to enter through the front entrance of the building first & complete the temperature check and screening before reporting to your room. Thank you for your help with this.
