Hey Panda Family,
Heather Whicker: Please join me in welcoming back Heather Whicker! Ms. Whicker will be returning in a part-time role to support our 1st grade teachers with small group instruction and interventions. We are so happy to have her rejoin our Panda family!
Bob Vorbroker (former principal at PGE): Please keep Mr. V in your thoughts and prayers. Mr. V has a benign tumor that is located behind his inner ear. He has to have invasive surgery in the coming weeks to have it removed. The surgery will impact his long-term hearing and require months of physical therapy to help him regain his balance. He is in good spirits, but I know he would love to hear from you if you have a second. His cell number is 336-682-9464. A thoughtful text or phone call would mean a lot.

IF Updates
iReady Incentives for the year: This
week will be the first week that we give a SURPRISE treat to a class for
meeting iReady goals. Please use this to help motivate your
students. We are working on the exact plan for our MOY celebration, but
as soon as we know what it will be, we will announce it. There will also
be a spot on our newly redesigned iReady bulletin board that will remind
students of these incentives. Stopping by to notice these incentives
would be a great way to keep these rewards at the forefront of their
minds.
MTSS reminder: EVERYONE has been doing a great job with implementing interventions and progress monitoring for students who need extra support. Remember to do two things: first, look at your data and decide when we need to either discuss it in PLT of have a “mini-meeting” to talk about it. Remember, you control this part of the process. Second, enter your contacts with parents in ECATS (directions: open ecats, click students at the top, search for the student, click the student name, click student information and scroll down to contact. This is where you will enter it.)
LETRS pacing reminder: unit 1 sessions 5-8 should be completed before the training date at the end of November. Unit 2 sessions 1-4 will be covered in January. You may want to pace yourself to get started with Unit 2 to ensure you will finish it before those January dates.

SIP Goals Vote: Please review the School Improvement Plan goals and vote on their approval. All staff (classified and certified) should vote. The goals and voting survey can be found here - SIP Goal Vote
LETRS Support: In an effort to provide certified teachers some time during their work hours to complete their LETRS coursework, we are going to creatively utilize Ms. Lloyd. All certified teachers that have to complete LETRS may sign up for one 1/2 day on Ms. Lloyd's schedule to work on their LETRS coursework. This is how it will work:
- Pull up Ms. Lloyd's schedule here - Ms. Lloyd's Schedule
- Pick one 1/2 day that is available between now and Winter Break
- Write your name and LETRS in the box - i.e. "Cox LETRS"
- Ms. Lloyd will cover your class for the 1/2 day that you sign up
- On your day, you will stay on campus and find a quiet space to work on your LETRS coursework
- Teacher workroom, Teacher lounge, etc.
- If a Covid situation occurs and Ms. Lloyd must cancel, you will be able to pick another date and time
- This is optional, and is not required
We plan to see how this goes between now and Winter Break. If it goes smoothly, then we will consider offering it again for the spring semester. We hope this helps some!
