Week of 5/8 - 5/12

Hey Panda Family,

Every good sports team works hard all season to prepare for the "big game". Our "big game" (Mclass & EOGs) is right around the corner and y'all have done an amazing job preparing your team! This is the time of year where we begin to put on our "Coach" hat, prepare our motivational speech, and encourage them from the sidelines. We have put in the work and now it is time to show off our skills. Keep practicing and coaching until "game day" 😊 You got this!

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

New Updates

Staff Meeting: This upcoming Tuesday, May 16 will be our final staff meeting for the school year. We will meet in the Media Center at 3:30. Please see the agenda below:
  • Good News
  • Field Day Information - Fox
  • EOG Testing Information - Lloyd
  • SEL PD - Todd Rich
  • Good of the Order

Mclass Testing (K-4): Mclass EOY testing will begin next week. Please review the bullet points below and don't hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance with testing.
  • If you need to invalidate a student, please email Gardner with the details.  Once approved, she will let you know.
  • Remember to complete all probes
  • You cannot progress monitor while the window is open
  • Reach out to Ms. Gardner with questions

Teacher Choice for Staff Children: If your child will be a student at PGE next school year, please complete the following form to assist us with their classroom assignment for 2023-2024. The form is located here - Teacher Choice for Staff Children

Students Who Miss the Bus: This is a friendly reminder that if one of your students misses the bus we need the student to remain with the teacher until the parent arrives (either in the office or in your room). Please contact the parent via phone or Dojo to let them know. We are always happy to help in the office, but between late buses, missed buses, car riders that don't get picked up, and students arriving from other schools or brought back to us (that don't have a parent at the stop), it becomes a lot to manage in the office. Your help with this small piece is greatly appreciated.

Adult-Sized Clothing: If you clean out your closets at home and ever have any adult-sized shorts/pants (with elastic bands) or adult-sized t-shirts, please consider donating them to our school clothes closet. Some of our older students need the adult-sized clothes when they have to change here at school. Thank you!

Safety Reminders: These are gentle reminders regarding safety as we finish out the year.
  • Even though we are having AC issues, back doors cannot be propped open at any time (please let us know and we will put in a work order).
  • Classroom doors are to remain locked, but do not need to be shut.

LETRS (from district): Please remind staff who started last year, their LETRS course license will expire at the end of September 2023. To be eligible for the August LETRS stipend, online coursework and live training makeup sessions must be completed by July 27th. For the new hired group who started this year in LETRS, please encourage them to complete through Unit 4 by the end of July.

Thinking of You: Please keep these staff members in your thoughts and prayers. If I ever leave anyone out, please forgive me and gently let me know. Thank you!
  • Ms. Postle - Please keep Ms. Postle and her father in your thoughts and prayers. He is 83 years-old, he recently broke his hip, and surgery is likely. Prayers for a smooth recovery.

EOY MTSS Updates (from Ms. Balint): Please see the EOY MTSS updates below from MTSS.
  • make sure all progress monitoring points have been updated in ECATS (make sure to click "save scores")
  • please compile a blue folder (if you need a blue folder- please let me know) for each student with a Tier 2 or Tier 3 plan (create a document in ECATS, include progress monitoring sheet, intervention sheets, end point of the intervention)
  • K-3 teachers- please print off the Core Plan for any students that were red and yellow in mClass. You will need to create a blue folder for those students and then place the folder in the cum along with progress monitoring relating to goal
  • Last day for intervention is May 25th

Media Updates (from Ms. Epperley): Here are the updates from Ms. Epperley in the Media Center.
  • 2-5 Bring Chromebooks
  • K-2 All Chromebooks will be checked out to the teacher at the end of the year and packed up to remain in the classroom.
  • 3-5 All take-home students will be taking their Chromebook, case and charger HOME for the summer. Day users will be turned in to the media center.
  • Student library book turn in day:  May 25
