Week of 4/22 - 4/26

Hey Panda Family,

Today is part ten, and the last, of our mini-series, "Talentless". This week our trait that requires no talent is Love. When visitors walk in our building and spend any time walking the halls they regularly tell me that it "feels different here". In my opinion, the primary reason for this is the love that resonates through the relationships we have with our students, parents, and each other. We can show love to one another through kindness, forgiveness, putting others first, and simple acts of grace. Love is also accountability, wanting & expecting the best for each other, and dedication. Love is a powerful word - use it & show it. Thank you all for the love you show each and everyday. It is the number one factor for the success we have and what makes Piney Grove such a special place to work. Love y'all :)

Week of 4/15 - 4/19

Hey Panda Family,

Today is part nine of our mini-series, "Talentless". This week our trait that requires no talent is Grit. Grit is the "drive, stamina, and fortitude to push through any challenge or obstacle until success is achieved" (Anonymous). Your job isn't easy. It takes true grit to keep loving and teaching that student that does everything to get under your skin day after day. It takes grit to continue to try different approaches and strategies with students when they just don't understand a concept. It takes grit to keep smiling and staying positive when your body is tired after 150 days of teaching. Having grit and perseverance develops toughness. The most rewarding things in life require an element of grit. So even though your job isn't easy, it is very rewarding. Thanks for all you do and I hope you have a restful weekend!
