Y'all were Champions this week! Team work was on full display, you exercised patience, and you worked extremely hard. I couldn't be more proud. Great job establishing routines with your students, implementing high expectations, forming relationships, and setting the tone for a wonderful year. Get some much deserved rest this weekend! 😊

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

Morning Announcements: Announcements will continue to be over the intercom next week. When Ms. Guffey returns we will slowly introduce our student video announcements.

Outdoor Recess: In case we have hot weather, please remember and adhere to the guidelines below.
If the “feels like” temperature is above 90 degrees, all outdoor school activities are cancelled.  This applies to physical education, recess, PTA events, outdoor art classroom, field day, etc.
The attached weather chart and the Winston Salem weather station are what we generally use for hot/cold weather play decisions.
In general, on the attached chart:
  • Green requires no precautions.
  • Yellow requires appropriate clothing  for cold weather, close monitoring of activity, and 30 minute time limits.
  • Red is not appropriate for outdoor play/activity at school

WS/FCS Interpreter Services: If you need a district interpreter, here is the link to request one. REQUEST FOR INTERPRETATION SERVICES LINK

Shout-Outs 🎉: From the Kindergarten Team - Thank you for all the extra support this week helping our Kinders get adjusted. The help in our rooms, hallways, dismissal and lunch was much appreciated!

Updates from Last Week

Attendance: All homeroom teachers will take attendance in PowerSchool and on your paper copy the first 10 days of school. Ms. True will come by and collect your paper copy each day and return it to you. After the tenth day of school the paper copy will go away.

Canvas & Lesson Plans: Please make sure you share your Canvas page with me and Leslie. Lesson plans should be posted to Canvas each week.

Emergency Sub Plans: All certified teachers should have at least 3-5 days worth of emergency sub plans prepared in case of an emergency and you have to be out suddenly.
