Y'all rocked Open House today! I am so proud to lead such an amazing group of people and educators. This week required flexibility, preparation, and patience. I have no doubt you made wonderful first impressions with your families today 😊 Make sure to spend the first few days next week building relationships, setting the foundation for your classroom community, practicing expectations and procedures, and setting the tone for a wonderful year. Definitely get into your instruction next week, but make sure you lay the classroom culture foundation first! Thanks for being a Champion for your kiddos 🐼

New Updates
Building Open this Weekend: The building will be open this weekend from 8:00 - 5:00 both Saturday and Sunday. The air conditioning will only be on Saturday from 8:00 - 11:00.
First Day of School Arrival: We are requiring all parents to sign in on the first day of school before they walk their child to class. The only adjustment I am going to make for the first day is we are going to allow all students to report straight to their class beginning at 7:45. This will allow us to get parents in and out quicker on this first day. Bus riders will also report straight to class on the first day only. On the second day of school (August 13), parents and students will have to wait until the 8:05 bell. On the second day we will also station all car riders and bus riders in the gym until the 8:05 bell. In short, the second day will operate as normal.
Morning Duty: We will need all hands on deck for morning arrival the first week. Please make sure you are at your duty on time.

Announcements: Announcements will be over the intercom during the first week of school. We hope to have video announcements ready beginning August 19.
Specials: Specials will operate as normal day one.
Student Services Video: The district is requiring all schools to review certain topics with students on the first day (i.e. bullying, attendance, etc.). Mrs. Ceglowski has created a video to review these topics. Please watch this video ahead of time so you are prepared to stop and discuss these items with your students. If any of your students have questions, the three of us will be coming around on Tuesday & Wednesday to say hey and answer them. Attendance: All homeroom teachers will take attendance in PowerSchool and on your paper copy the first 10 days of school. Ms. True will come by and collect your paper copy each day and return it to you. After the tenth day of school the paper copy will go away.
Transportation: Please see the important transportation reminders below.

- grades K-2 - teacher assistants will help their grade levels reach out to parents/families of students who do not know how they are getting home on the first day of school.
- grades 3-5 - a support staff member will come to your grade level the first day to make sure we know how all students are going home.

- Have a list ready of those students you do not know their transportation arrangements so calls can be made

Emergency Sub Plans: All certified teachers should have at least 3-5 days worth of emergency sub plans prepared in case of an emergency and you have to be out suddenly. Please make sure these plans have a roster, your detailed schedule, clear directions, and all materials. Please keep these plans in a folder in your room.
