Week of May 18 - 22

Hey Panda Family,

2 more days! Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and teamwork over the past few weeks as we have adjusted schedules, had multiple rounds of testing, and have asked everyone to do more. Y'all make such an amazing team and I am so thankful for each one of you! Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Enjoy your nice long weekend! 🐼

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

New Updates

Secure Drill and Fire Drill: We will hold these drills on Tuesday, May 26 @ 2:00. We will do the Secure Drill first and then do the Fire Drill. Either myself or Ms. Gardner will get on the announcements and talk everyone through the Secure Drill.

Student Placement Cards & Roster Creation: Please make sure your student placement cards are complete before next Wednesday, May 27. Here are the directions:
  • K-2 should base their student ranking off a student's reading ability/Mclass score
  • 3-5 should base their student ranking off both reading & math ability
  • Don't forget to complete the back of the card about student behaviors
  • K-4 grade levels will meet in the PLT room during planning time on Wednesday, May 27 to create rosters for next year

EOY Checklist Items: All Certified Staff must complete all items on their EOY Checklist Packet before you leave for the summer. If you have any questions about the EOY Checklist Packet please see Mr. Elkins or Ms. Gardner.

Report Cards: Report Cards are due to Ms. True by the end of the day on Thursday, May 28.

Packing Up Your Room: Just a friendly reminder to label everything with your name and room number when packing up your room. This will help make sure nothing gets misplaced during summer cleaning. You will also put all items on the hallway door side of the room. Here is a picture for your reference.

Teacher Workdays: May 28 & May 29 will both be Teacher Workdays. Instructional Assistants will not work on these workdays.

Kindergarten Screening: We will be having an additional day of Kindergarten Screening on Friday, May 29 in the Media Center. The Media Center will be closed on Friday, May 29.

Grade Level Changes for 2026-2027: Please see the grade level changes for the 2026-2027 school year:
  • Ms. Laughlin will be moving to 1st Grade
  • Ms. Ashburn will be moving to 2nd Grade
  • Ms. Corlett will be moving to 2nd Grade
  • Ms. Mitchell will be moving to 4th Grade
  • Ms. Barnes will be moving to 5th Grade

Rumors: It is very disappointing to me to hear that there were so many rumors floating around over the last few weeks about grade level movement. It is my goal to be as transparent as I possibly can in my processes so everyone knows what decisions need to be made; however, spreading rumors and making guesses about others only causes unwarranted anxiety amongst our school family. Very rarely do I make generic statements to the whole staff when I am disappointed, but my perception is these discussions were rampant enough where it is warranted to let everyone know how I feel.
