Mid-Summer Weekly Wrap

Hey Panda Family,

Happy Summer! I hope everyone is EXPLORING some fun and relaxing activities on your much deserved break. Here is a mid-summer edition of the Weekly Wrap just to give you some updates and information on a few items. As always, reach out if you need anything at all! 🐼

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

New Updates

Staffing Update: Please join me in welcoming back Ms. Kristen Biance to the Piney Grove family! Ms. Biance will be rejoining our 2nd Grade team. We are so excited to have her back! 

Open House: Open House will be on Wednesday, August 5 from 4:00-6:00. It will be floating. Please make sure you have a handout with important information (your contact information, how to sign up on Dojo, important dates, etc.) that every family leaves with and can keep at home. I also suggest having a slideshow running on your Promethean board with important information. 

Opening Staff Meeting: This year we will have our Opening Staff Meeting on Thursday, August 6 from 7:30-12:00. With Open House and the district PD day being earlier this year, we wanted to give you plenty of time to make sure your room was ready for Open House. 

Important Dates: Please mark your calendar with these important dates:

• August 3 - Certified Staff Returns (Teachers will work in their classrooms)
• August 3 - Kindergarten Playdate from 9:00-11:00
• August 4 - Classified Staff Returns
• August 4 - Elementary PD day
• August 5 - Open House from 4:00-6:00
• August 6 - Opening Staff Meeting from 7:30-12:00
• August 7 - Teacher Workday
• August 10 - First Day of School

Building Preparation: Our custodial staff has been working hard to clean our building and wax our floors for the upcoming school year. The floors are looking great! Beginning in July, I will text you when your room is ready in case you want to come work in your room early. Please know working in your room early is completely optional.

PTA Business Partner Survey: Our PTA Board is working to contact local businesses in our community for sponsorships. If you know of any local businesses that are owned or operated by some of our Piney Grove parents please fill out this form. Our PTA is going to contact them to see if they would be interested in donating money to our school in return for a school sponsorship. Here is a link to the form: PTA School Sponsorship

IEP Minutes Document: Teachers will continue to take minutes during IEP meetings.
