Important Items from Last Week
FCAE Survey (from Ms. Youtz): Teachers and Assistants should have received an "FCAE Survey for Teachers and Teacher Assistants" in your email. It arrived on Monday evening. I spoke with Mr. Elkins and he said that you could fill this out on your own time if you want or there will be time set aside for you to complete the survey at the end of our Early Release day on the 15th. Our goal is to get 100% participation by the end of the early release day on the 15th. If our school reaches 100%, then all the teachers and teacher assistants will be rewarded. Remember that the survey is anonymous and be honest. I already took the survey and the survey took me about 20 minutes to complete. If you have any questions, please let me know. If there are updates about the survey then I will pass them on to you. Thank you for your support and dedication.
National Board Certification: If you are currently completing, or thinking about completing, National Boards check out this link - National Boards. Contact information is in this link. The district has just started offering financial support for National Boards too. Make sure to reach out to the contacts on the flier if you have any questions.
Women's History Month Resources: In March we celebrate Women's History! Here are some resources if you would like to incorporate them into your instruction (click on Students & Educators) - Women's History Month
LETRS: Just a gentle reminder that you should have completed Unit 6 at this point and working on Unit 7. Please make sure you take advantage of the free half-day with Ms. Pam Mason to make sure you stay on track. I will be checking progress at the end of the quarter. Thanks!
Blocked Days: May 30 - June 9 will be blocked days due to EOG testing. I will not be able to approve any Personal Days during this time. We will need all hands on deck. If you have already reached out to me about needing time off during these weeks due to specific obligations, then you are good. If an emergency occurs, please just come talk with me and we will try and work something out.
Paw Bucks (from PBIS Committee): Classroom teachers (with the help of specialists) are supposed to provide students with two opportunities each day to earn Paw Bucks. This may be in the form of paper Paw Bucks or Dojo points.
Other school personnel should consider giving Paw Bucks when they see students who are going above and beyond normal classroom and PAWS expectations.
Students may be given $5 Paw Bucks for being extraordinary. We want to acknowledge those students for doing something amazing, but these should be given rarely.
$10 Paw Bucks should only be used in exchange for smaller bucks so that Paw Store shopping is easier. These are great for our lower grades students to understand the value of numbers, so we will not get rid of them.
Pam Mason - LETRS: Teachers who are required to complete LETRS may sign up with Pam Mason for an additional half-day to work on their coursework. Please review the days that are available and get with Ms. Mason to schedule it. We hope this helps give you some extra time to complete this professional development. Here is Ms. Mason's schedule - Pam Mason's Schedule
