Hey Panda Family,
Thoughts and Prayers: Please keep Ms. Caudle's family in your thoughts and prayers. Her father passed away last weekend. Ms. Caudle is a part-time assistant in our PreK classroom.
MOY State of the School: Last year I gave a presentation at our February staff meeting to review our MOY progress in all our data points. This year I would like to do this presentation in smaller settings so we can have more discussion and individuals have time to ask questions. I would like all staff to attend one of these meetings next week. You are free to choose which time to attend. All K-5 teachers will get this presentation in their PLT meeting. The presentation should last about 20-25 minutes. Here are the times for next week (please attend one of these sessions):
Monday, February 12 @ 2:20 - PLT Room
Tuesday, February 13 @ 11:00 - Room 101
Wednesday, February 14 @ 2:20 - PLT Room
Wednesday, February 14 @ 3:30 - Media Center
Thursday, February 15 @ 8:00 - PLT Room
Thursday, February 15 @ 2:20 - PLT Room
Friday, February 16 @ 1:30 - PLT Room
Stellar Staff Attendance: Congratulations to these staff members for having stellar attendance in 2nd Quarter!
Imprints: If you need to utilize the free day-to-day childcare for Imprints because you have a meeting please let Caressa Vance know in advance. This will allow her to properly prepare for the additional kid(s). You can text her on her cell phone at 336-995-0027.
Valentine's Day Breakfast (from PTA): On Wednesday, February 14th, we want to start your day off the right way with a tasty breakfast. Stop by the workroom before you get your day started. Thanks for all you do!

Summer Vacations: The district has approved the 2024-2025 school calendar WS/FCS 24-25 Calendar. As you can see our start date is much earlier next year. The first teacher workday is Thursday, August 1. If you have summer plans that can't be adjusted and you will be out during some of the workdays please let me know. It is okay if that is the case, I just want to be prepared and plan ahead. Thanks!
Real Life Math Challenge (from SIT): Each Monday during February and March we will promote a Real Life Math Challenge to our panda families on School Story and Facebook. Families will be encouraged to explore math together in a quick, simple, hands-on way then share a photo and quick statement with their child's teacher via Class Dojo or email. Please discuss the responses you receive in morning meeting or math class each week and send the best ones to Deana Jones (336-407-2197 or DHJones2@wsfcs.k12.nc.us) to highlight on social media. Thank you for your support!
- Please ensure your back door is not blocked (5-6 floor squares).
- Extra desks in the hallway should be brought into a classroom until after the inspection.
- Please ensure nothing is hanging from the ceiling or from the front of your door.
Staff Challenge for January/February (Optional): If you would like to participate, your grade level or department will come up with a theme to decorate their doors by February 16. The more creative theme the better! Judging will occur on February 16 and the winning grade level/department will be announced at the next staff meeting (and they will win a prize).
