PLTs: PLTs will start back next week for K-5 grades. Going forward, all PLTs will be during grade level specials/planning time. We will still meet in the PLT conference room. Here are the days PLTs will occur:
- Mondays - 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade
- Wednesdays - K, 1st, & 2nd grade
Building Reminders: Here are a few building reminders, and miscellaneous items, that we need your help with. Thanks!
- If you notice the cafeteria music has not been playing while you are at lunch please check the cd player and see if the cd needs to be restarted. It may have just timed out.
- Please do your best to stick with your scheduled times that have an impact school-wide (arriving/leaving lunch on time, recess, specials, etc.). I will be addressing reoccurring issues individually, but this is just a friendly reminder to everyone so we can operate efficiently and effectively.
- Now that things are beginning to settle down and I adjust to the new normal, I will begin to be more frequent in classrooms. My goal is to get in 2-3 classrooms a day just to spend time with the kids and see what they are learning. Feel free to put me to work when I am in there if I can be of assistance!
Book Fair: Book Fair is next week. All classes will go to the book fair during their Media Specials next week. If you have any book fair questions please see Ms. Epperley.
Pumpkin Decorating: This year we are not doing a pumpkin decorating contest for the book fair. You are still more than welcome to decorate a pumpkin as a book character and donate it to the media center for decoration, but there will be no contest.
PBIS Updates: Next week is our PBIS Spirit Week. Each day's theme is what we encourage our Pandas to do. Here is the full list of the themes:
22: Shine Bright (neon)
23: Be an All-Star (sports)
24: Model Out-of-this World Behavior (outer space, alien)
25: Include Others (twin)
26: Show Panda Pride
Each classroom teacher will receive a few stickers related to each day's theme. If you see a student who is exhibiting that day's encouraged behavior (through their actions, not just by dressing up) you can give them a sticker AND an extra Paw Buck or Dojo point. These can be students in your own class or a different class. (For Thursday there are two of each sticker so they can share with their "twin.")
Feel free to also give stickers to staff members showing these behaviors! There are a few extra stickers that will be in the workroom if you need them - just check because some are not necessarily kid-appropriate. Silly Amazon multi-packs.
We hope this is a fun way to reinforce positive behaviors! We hope all staff will participate, too. 🙂

Counseling Updates (from Ms. Ceglowski): Thank you all so much for participating in Start with Hello Week! With all that we have going on, it really shows who we are to see our school community embrace the message so well. Please send me any pictures you have of your students doing the activities through the week. Thank you! You guys are the best!!

Information for Elementary Grading: Please see the district grading updates below.
- Standards Based Grading Dual Language Immersion (new K-2 course), Science, and Social Studies are missing standards that were not imported from DPI during our conversion. We are working on getting those standards from our Instructional Services department and imported into Infinite Campus. We will notify you when they are ready for your teachers to start adding assignments to those courses.
- K-5 Grades - Behavior, Work Habits, Visual Arts, General Music, and Physical Education in Infinite Campus are “Post only” courses. This means that teachers will only enter a posted S, N, or U at the end of each term when the grading window opens to finalize term grades. No Assignments can be entered for those courses on the S, N, U grading scale. They will not have an “In-Progress Grade,” therefore the courses will not print on Progress Reports. Instructions for these courses are linked here:
- All instructional videos and documents for Teachers are in this Google Drive Folder. Please share with your teachers.
