Hey Panda Family,
These next two weeks are going to be hard. I just want you to be prepared. I am so sorry we are having to go through this. The reduction in force is going to become real over these next two weeks as the new normal kicks in. More than ever we need to rally around each other, work as a team, and be willing to step up. We will get through this and we will thrive because y'all are amazing people; but it is going to be tough. I know this is a big ask, but keep plugging away for your students and your colleagues. It is hard to be at your best with this cloud of anxiety hanging over these reduction decisions, but y'all are doing just that. I am proud to lead such phenomenal people. Thanks for all you do! Have a wonderful weekend 😊
Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

New Updates
Staffing Updates: As it has been throughout this entire process, my goal is to be as transparent as I possibly can with the information that I have. This week dealt more tough news. We were two students short of hitting our projected numbers, so we are set for a reduction in our regular teacher allotment and possibly a teacher being surplussed to another school. I will be out on Monday (preplanned vacation day), but I have a virtual meeting with HR on Monday for them to tell me the final results and who the impacted employee is. The surplus formula is based off least amount of experience in WS/FCS. Next week we will also find out who our impacted EC staff is and what happens with Ms. Gardner. I also want you to know that I am fighting in every one of these meetings for us. I know I haven't made any new friends at district office in this process, but I am trying to advocate for us. Y'all know I am competitive and like to fix things, and not winning or being able to fix these problems kills me. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me and I will do my best to answer them.
September 15: The district has adjusted the school calendar to make September 15 a teacher workday. Staff are not allowed to take annual leave on September 15. I don't know yet if there will be any specific meetings or requirements for this day, but when I have this information I will certainly let you know.
Breakfast from Kernersville Wesleyan Church: On Tuesday, September 9, Kernersville Wesleyan is bringing breakfast for all of the staff!
Reading iReady BOY Diagnostic: All 1st - 5th grade students will complete the Reading iReady BOY Diagnostic next week. Both Math and Reading Diagnostics should be completed by the end of next week. Thanks!
Mclass: The BOY Mclass window closes on Wednesday, September 10. I will be checking completion percentages this weekend to make sure we are on track for 100% completion.
Good Citizen (from Ms. Ceglowski): Just a few classes left to add August GC Here is the link:
Good Citizen
On Monday, we will ask that all August Good Citizens report to the media center right after the initial announcement from Elkins or Gardner.
I will have a certificate for each of them with their name on it.
They will pose as a grade level like last year. This year they will hold up the certificate with their name on it to identify them in the picture.
I will collect all the certificates and keep a file for each teacher with all the months filled out and give it to you at the end of the year for your celebrations.
Please send your student right at the end of announcements so that we can get this done before Mrs. Epperley's first class. Thanks so much for your support!
Classroom Guidance Lessons (from Ms. Ceglowski): If you would like to sign up for a classroom guidance lesson with Mrs. Ceglowski, please click this link for available times. Book time with Ceglowski, Jessica
Individual and Group Counseling (from Ms. Ceglowski): Please use this link to refer a student for me to see individually or in a group. This way we aren't using names in emails and I will have all the information in the same place. The form is very short. I will get an email notification when you submit it.
