Week of 9/22 - 9/26

Hey Panda Family,

Come join us for our Fall Festival tomorrow from 9:00 - 1:00 here at the school! It looks like it may rain, so we are planning to bring all the festivities inside! If you can't come, no worries, but we will certainly miss you! Thank you for your hard work this week and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! 🍂

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

New Updates

Picture Day: Picture Day is on Monday, September 29 in the Media Center. Here is a link to the schedule: Picture Day Schedule

Paw Forms: Please make sure you are entering your Paw Forms into Educator's Handbook each week. Our goal each year is that 100% of all teachers enter this data so we know exactly which students to support and how to best mitigate our behavior concerns.

Mr. Rick Davis (from SCC): Mr. Rick will be having emergency open heart surgery on Monday, September 29th. SCC discussed making him a gift basket from the Piney Grove Staff. RJ said he would deliver to Mr. Rick when he comes home from the hospital. We would like to have all contributions by Thursday, October 2nd. Please bring contributions to Ms. Youtz.

Gift basket ideas:
  • Cheerwine
  • Orange and Grape Crush
  • Cash
  • Food Lion Gift Card
  • Visa gift cards
  • Kickback Jack gift card
  • Amalfi’s gift card
  • Plain Chips
  • Banana Pudding (bring in Friday)

Thank you for helping to make a special gift for Mr. Rick as he heals.  I know he will be surprised, and it will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please reach out to a SCC representative.

Mclass Progress Monitoring: Please make sure you are progress monitoring your students in Mclass. Next week is a catch-up week if you are behind. Here is the link to the progress monitoring calendar: Mclass Progress Monitoring Schedule

SchoolNet Update: Please enable the text to speech feature on all SchoolNet assessments except for ELA assessments. This feature is available on End of Grade and End of Course assessments and should be made available on classroom assessments as well.

Positive Phone Calls/Messages: This is just a friendly reminder to turn in/share your positive communication log with me as soon as possible. Thank you to those who have already completed this. Here is a reminder of the bullet points from the opening staff meeting.

  • By the end of September, teachers should have contacted all parents with a positive Dojo message, email, or phone call

  • If parent does not respond, try another form of communication (phone call, email)

  • Turn in log by 9/26/2025

  • All students should receive a Pandagram home during the 1st quarter

Education Grants: Please make sure to take advantage of these local education grants. They are due soon!

Spanish Interpretation Support: A Spanish interpretation support line is now available for three-way calls to assist families while they visit your school. Please stay on the line with the caller while the interpreter joins. Note: the interpreter will only interpret, not answer specific questions. Staying connected ensures clear and accurate communication and that the family receives the correct support.

Dedicated phone line: 336-727-8398

Remember that requesting interpretation or translation services remains the same. Use the links below to submit your request in advance. Services are scheduled in the order they are received.
