Hey Panda Family,
I don't know about you, but this was a week! Every day it seemed like I had 6-7 crazy things happen! Even the crazy and chaotic weeks produce joy and progress though 😊 I am proud of the hard work each of you puts in every day. Keep filling up those turkey feathers with all the reasons why we are thankful for each other! 🦃 Make the most out of the two days next week and let's finish November strong! Have a wonderful weekend!
Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:
New Updates
PURE Taekwondo Break-a-Thon: All classes will go to gym for Specials on Monday, November 24 for our PURE Taekwondo lesson and board break-a-thon. I will be giving Master Posey the list of all students who will be breaking a board(s). We raised $413! All money raised is going back to the grade levels. Ms. Owens will be putting the money in your grade level Field Trip Account.
Secret Santa (from SCC): Please click on the link and let us know if you would like to participate in a Secret Santa gift exchange, organized by SCC. Here is the link - Secret Santa
PBIS Event Movie & Snacks: Our next PBIS event will be on Tuesday, November 25 for those students who paid. The event will be in the gym. Students will watch a holiday movie and have popcorn. They may bring their water and a blanket to lay on. Here are the times:
- K-2: 9:30-10:00
- 3-5: 10:15-11:00
Jennifer McRae: Ms. McRae will be the long-term sub for Ms. Peickert beginning in January. Until then, she is available to sub if you need her. Her number is 336-978-5632.
Give a Kid a Coat (from Ms. Ceglowski): Officer Deeney has collected many coats through the Give a Kid a Coat Drive and he is offering to support our students with some of them this year. If you have a student you think would benefit, please send me their name and size. Also, reach out to the parent/guardian to be sure the donation would be welcome. They have sizes from pre-k all the way up. Thanks!
HB 805: A new state law has been passed that now requires us to catalog our classroom libraries and provide these lists to parents if they ask. Here is the information principals received - House Bill 805. MTAC has shared some very easy steps to accomplish this task. I know this is not ideal, and somewhat of a hassle, but we have to do it (sorry). We will discuss it more in PLTs if you have questions. Here is a link to the directions if you want to go ahead and knock it out - Catalog Your Classroom Library
Mclass Progress Monitoring: Please make sure you are progress monitoring your students in Mclass. Here is the link to the progress monitoring calendar: Mclass Progress Monitoring Schedule. Next week is a Catch-Up week.
Project Not Forgotten (from Ms. Keller): With next week being two days...would you please have your classes make cards for the people of Western, North Carolina? Please have your classes write letters of encouragement or draw happy pictures to send to these people to know they are being thought about this season. Please put the letters in Ms. Keller's mailbox by December 5th. Thank you!
Shoutouts: Here are some shoutouts from this week!
- From Ms. Rempe - An appreciative shout out to Ms. Ceglowski for supporting our Panda community during this time. Thanks for the home visit :)A big shout out to Ms. Barnes for taking on more pandas with need. They love spending time with you :)Lastly, shoutout to my grade level for their support during the maneuvering of fieldtrips and a busy couple of weeks!
Previous Updates
PBIS Updates: Students will shop in the Paw Store on December 15 or 16 (see the Schedule for your time). We are treating this as a holiday market and encouraging students to shop for others. (We'll still have a two-item limit.) We are going to purchase craft kits to have in the store but need donations of giftable items they can choose from as well. We also need holiday or colored paper bags they can take their items home in for giving. As you're going through your holiday things, if you have anything to give, please put it in the Paw Store donation box in the office. Thank you!
Counseling Updates (from Ms. Ceglowski): Please use this link if you would like for me to meet with one of your students. Thank you for signing up for classroom guidance! This is a great opportunity to meet with teachers and students together to do some skill-building lessons that teachers can then reinforce when the opportunity arises. I love when teachers join in and share their own experiences, it's powerful for the students! Please use the following link to book classroom guidance for 2nd quarter.
