Week of 11/24 - 11/28

Hey Panda Family,

I hope everyone had a restful and yummy Thanksgiving! I am so incredibly thankful for each one of you and the service you provide for our students and families each day. You are all amazing individuals with unique talents and traits. Thank you for being such a wonderful blessing to me and to our school. Have a wonderful rest of your break! 🦃

Here are the Weekly Wrap updates for this week:

New Updates

iReady Math Diagnostic: All K-5 classes will complete their iReady Math Diagnostic this week (Dec. 1-5). There will be prizes for students in each class that show the most growth and have the highest score. The two classes that show the most growth will also win Chick-fil-A lunch for their class. More details to come on the prizes!

Hide iReady Diagnostics: Both diagnostics will open up on Monday. If you would like to hide the diagnostics from your students until you are ready to test here are the instructions - Hide iReady Diagnostic

iReady Lessons: iReady lessons/pathways are also scheduled to open up on Monday, December 1. Students should not work on lessons more than 30-45 minutes per subject each week.

Pictures with Santa: Our annual Pictures with Santa 5th grade fundraiser is this Tuesday, December 2. A school story dojo and parent email was sent out with all the instructions. A volunteer will come get your students when we are ready for their picture to be taken. Please reach out to Ms. Medley if you have any questions. Here is the schedule.

EFHS Holiday Tour: The annual EFHS Holiday Singing Tour will be this Friday, December 5 @ 10:00 in the gym. All grade levels will attend. The program will last forty-five minutes.

Mrs. Honeycutt's Baby Shower: Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Honeycutt and the new addition to their family this Wednesday, December 3 @ 3:30 in the Media Center. Mrs. Honeycutt is registered at Amazon.

SCC Seasonal Gathering (from Ms. Mabe & Ms. Mathis): In lieu of our traditional holiday get-together in December, SCC has decided to organize a social event in January so that we can relax and enjoy it without the pressure of the holiday craze.  Please mark your calendar for Friday, January 16, 2026, to join us at Stock and Grain at 6:30 p.m. in High Point.  There will be live music that evening from 7-10 p.m.  There are various food options, a full bar if you would like to order something fun, and a coffee and dessert vendor.  We look forward to a fun, relaxing evening!  Significant others are welcome.  No children please.

Mclass Progress Monitoring: Please make sure you are progress monitoring your students in Mclass. Here is the link to the progress monitoring calendar: Mclass Progress Monitoring Schedule. Next week is a Red week.

Shoutouts: Here are some shoutouts from this week!
  • From Ms. Coleman - shoutout to Mrs. Seely, Mrs. Howard, and Mrs. Honeycutt for planning the awesome PBIS movie & popcorn event! Thank you also to all adults that helped supervise!

Previous Updates

Jennifer McRae: Ms. McRae will be the long-term sub for Ms. Peickert beginning in January. Until then, she is available to sub if you need her. Her number is 336-978-5632.

HB 805: A new state law has been passed that now requires us to catalog our classroom libraries and provide these lists to parents if they ask. Here is the information principals received - House Bill 805. MTAC has shared some very easy steps to accomplish this task. I know this is not ideal, and somewhat of a hassle, but we have to do it (sorry). We will discuss it more in PLTs if you have questions. Here is a link to the directions if you want to go ahead and knock it out - Catalog Your Classroom Library

PBIS Updates: Students will shop in the Paw Store on December 15 or 16 (see the Schedule for your time). We are treating this as a holiday market and encouraging students to shop for others. (We'll still have a two-item limit.) We are going to purchase craft kits to have in the store but need donations of giftable items they can choose from as well. We also need holiday or colored paper bags they can take their items home in for giving. As you're going through your holiday things, if you have anything to give, please put it in the Paw Store donation box in the office. Thank you!

Counseling Updates (from Ms. Ceglowski): Please use this link if you would like for me to meet with one of your students. Thank you for signing up for classroom guidance! This is a great opportunity to meet with teachers and students together to do some skill-building lessons that teachers can then reinforce when the opportunity arises.  I love when teachers join in and share their own experiences, it's powerful for the students! Please use the following link to book classroom guidance for 2nd quarter. Book time with Ceglowski, Jessica: Classroom Guidance - 2nd Quarter

Paw Form Consequences: Here is the list of acceptable and unacceptable classroom consequences if a student gets a Paw Form. We will continue to add to this list, and I will be communicating these changes to parents soon. Here is the list: Paw Form Consequences

Gardner's Schedule: Next week Ms. Gardner is on campus Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! Fridays in November and December will be split between schools.  CCES- AM   PGE- PM. The exceptions are November 7 and December 5. Ms. Gardner will go to CCES after the AP meeting. Here is her full schedule for November & December: November & December

PTA Reimbursement Link: Don't forget, every teacher gets $100 from PTA to go towards your classroom and your students. You will buy the items and then get reimbursed from PTA. Here are the links to submit your receipts for reimbursement. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Owens and she can help you. Here are the links:
