New Updates

Staff Meeting Presentation: Here is the link to the Opening Staff Meeting - Opening Staff Meeting 23-24. Please make sure review all dates and things-to-do before the start of the school year. 

Top 20 Training: On Monday, August 21 we will meet at the Summit Church from 8:00 - 3:00 for Top 20 Training with Willow Sweeney. Please wear a staff shirt and lunch will be served. Summit Church is located at 4440 High Point Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284. 

Elementary District PD: Tuesday, August 22 is the Elementary District PD day. Please go in Kickup, click on 8/22/23, and choose a session to attend. Please coordinate with your grade level so you can divide and conquer all sessions. If your PD session does not take the whole day, you will work at school the remainder of the day. 

Thematic Planning: All K-5 & Specialist teachers should attend our Thematic Planning PD session on Wednesday, August 23 @ 8:00 in the Media Center. Please bring your computer. 

Ms. Balint's Baby Shower: Please join us @ 9:00 on Wednesday, August 23 in the Media Center for Ms. Balint's Baby Shower. Here are the details for her shower.

Open House: Open House will be Thursday, August 24 from 4:30 - 7:30. Please make sure you have a presentation ready to share with your parents. Leslie and I will be sending out a video from us for you to share with parents during Open House as well. You may flex your hours on this day and come in later if you so choose. 

Back-2-School Bash: The district Back-2-School bash will be next Friday, August 25 in the morning. We will all ride the bus together. We are supposed to receive specific details at the beginning of next week. When I have those I will send it out. 

Class Dojo: Please make sure to archive your Class Dojo class from last school year. Also, please make sure to share your Class Dojo class for this year with Elkins, Gardner, Ceglowski, Specialists, and any other teachers that serve your class. 

Lesson Plans: I completely understand that the first week lesson plans will be mainly establishing routines, practicing routines, and building classroom community. I would still like everyone to submit plans for the first week to get in the routine. You will submit plans through Canvas. I am not expecting anything elaborate the first week, so don't stress.

Required Trauma Videos (due June 30): The district is requiring all principals, assistant principals, counselors, social workers, school psychologists, nurses, and K-12 teachers to watch two training videos to help build a trauma-resilient community. These videos are due by June 30 for these select staff members. I have known about these videos for a few weeks, but I waited until now to share with you because I didn't want to burden you with these until after testing was finished. End-of-Year Packet: Here is an electronic copy of the End-of-Year packet - EOY Staff Checklist 2022-2023 If all staff would please look over it and complete the items that pertain to you. We will also place a hard copy in your box at the beginning of next week. 

LETRS: All certified staff members must work three workdays on June 12 - 14 (or take leave). June 14 is the last contracted day for certified employees. If your LETRS training is on June 15 then you can trade out one of the workdays between June 12 - 14 since you are having to complete training on June 15. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Elkins. 

EOY MTSS Updates (from Ms. Balint): Please see the EOY MTSS updates below from MTSS.

• make sure all progress monitoring points have been updated in ECATS (make sure to click "save scores")

• please compile a blue folder (if you need a blue folder- please let me know) for each student with a Tier 2 or Tier 3 plan (create a document in ECATS, include progress monitoring sheet, intervention sheets, end point of the intervention)

• K-3 teachers- please print off the Core Plan for any students that were red and yellow in mClass. You will need to create a blue folder for those students and then place the folder in the cum along with progress monitoring relating to goal

• Last day for intervention is May 25th
